Technical Parameters General Model: FIELDVUE DVC4400 Digital Valve Controller Type: Digital Valve Controller for Partial-Stroke Testing (PST) and On-Off/ESD Applications. Safety Focus: Designed for use in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). Communication Protocol: HART (4-20 mA analog signal with digital overlay). Input Signal Digital Command: Via HART communication from a host system (e.g., asset management software, safety PLC) to initiate Partial-Stroke Tests or full valve strokes. Analog Signal Monitoring: Monitors a 4-20 mA discrete input for valve trip commands (if configured). Input Impedance: 10 ohms at 20 mA. Pneumatic Performance Supply Pressure Range: 1.4 to 10.0 bar (20 to 150 psig) Output Pressure: Two independent outputs (Output 1 and Output 2) for double-acting actuators or a single output for single-acting actuators. Air Delivery Capacity (Volume Boost): High-flow capacity for fast stroking of ESD valves. Partial-Stroke Testing (PST) Function: Allows automated, programmable partial stroking of the valve to verify movement without a full process shutdown. Test Parameters: Test stroke limit, test duration, and test frequency are configurable. Benefits: Reduces proof testing costs, provides verification of valve health, and improves Safety Integrity Level (SIL) performance. Diagnostics & Alerts Monitored Parameters: Valve travel, actuator pressure (for both sides of a double-acting actuator), supply pressure, device temperature, total travel cycles, and test results. PST Results: Records and reports pass/fail status and detailed data for each partial-stroke test. Alerts: Provides early warnings for issues such as low air supply, high friction, and actuator pressure imbalances. Environmental Ambient Temperature Range: Standard Electronics: -40° to 85°C (-40° to 185°F) Extended Temperature Electronics: -50° to 80°C (-58° to 176°F) Relative Humidity: 0 to 100% condensing. Enclosure Rating: NEMA 4X / IP66 (Weatherproof, Dust-tight, and Hose-proof). Electrical Loop Power: Powered directly from the 4-20 mA signal loop (Two-wire device). Local User Interface (LUI): Magnetic pushbuttons and a backlit LCD display for local configuration, manual operation, and viewing diagnostics without intruding on the HART signal. Physical & Mounting Mounting: Directly mounts to Fisher rotary and linear actuators. Compatible with a wide range of valve types using appropriate mounting kits. Housing Material: Aluminum with a corrosion-resistant coating.
